I am living on my boat for 10 days and we catch 6 big pelagics today. We filet all of them and eat some but not all of the fish. Tomorrow we go back fishing with the remainder of the previous days filets in our cooler. Are we in violation of the regulations?

No telling how the regulations are enforced in practice, my friend, although the regulation as written says heads and tails on, not packed as fish meat. If you are worried and are at a marina, I'm sure the marina folks can help you store any packed fish on dry land if you have a cooler that can be moved. Amazing how buying some stuff and handing a tip will do, and the locals always have good advice - far better than mine. Don't be afraid to ask. Best of luck and tight lines!

Technically just having them aboard without the head/tail attached is a violation all by its self.
Catching and keeping any further fish would also be a violation of the current laws.
