Just back from a wonderful 5 day stay on Guana. Weather was really beautiful. Had one spectacular thunderstorm with very exciting lightening, which occurred one night around 8:00. It was quite a display from our deck looking out over the ocean.

Guana was quiet. We enjoyed a dinner at Bluewater Grill one night.
Sampled their "Bang Bang Shrimp/Chicken Curry" dinner. If you have a chance, try it. It is delicious! Had lunch at Nipper's and the lobster salad is better than ever. Art Cafe was busy with breakfasts and had their wonderful Bahama Bread - both plain and Coconut. Also picked up some desert goodies there to take home.

We were out on the water most days, snorkeling, fishing, went to Fowl Cay and were the only ones there. Caught a nice sized grouper and had it for dinner. Next day, we mixed up the leftover grouper (which was stuffed with crabmeat we brought with us) with mayo, parmesan cheese, hot sauce, lots of lime juice, and some spices (grouper salad??) and slathered it on a big slice of Coconut Bahama bread, put a slice of chedder cheese on top, and broiled it for a few minutes. This turned out to be our best meal ever! Picked up a few conch and made conch salad, which also was quite good.

The road from the grocery store to the first Orchid Bay gate has been re-paved. It is smooth and wider now. Two golf carts can pass each other much more easily. Jerry and Chorene were busy painting their front porch and putting up screening all around. We visited the school on Monday and dropped off some supplies and books. It was the first day of the new school year. The school now has 5 or 6 students. The parents were still there, dropping off their children, and wiping some tears from those little ones who were obviously not happy to be there!

The ice cream shop had a big sale. Everything 50% off.

Had a great lunch at Sunset Beach Bar. Their menu has expanded. We enjoyed delicious cracked conch, swam in the pool, and played ring toss. They now have two ring tosses, back to back, in a new location away from the bar.

It was sad to leave, as always, but we will count the days until our next trip.
