I was just thinking of Bahamangie, Sandalman, Henz, Mike from Boston, Alan and all the rest of the Abacoholics in the path of that huge Nor-easter. Hope all of you are snug and warm. Keep us posted!

I thought my little snowblower was going to explode the snow was so slushy and heavy! He's out in the shed hating me right now.It was 30 lbs a shovelful because it flipped to rain early this morning.Havin' a good ol' grill cheese and tomato soup supper after a hot shower I'll tell ya.Believe it or not it's 48 degrees right now but it's falling into the 20's for highs the next two days.I plan on being warm and snug in bed very soon!:DThank you for thinking of us all Patti, how many feet of snow do you have at your house yet?

Brrrrrr Scott! We have the powder thing goin' on. Last year was weird because we did get blasted with several blizzards and wet snow.
Yes, we still have several inches on the ground, but we are supposed to get Shinook winds today along with a high of 51. That is a Native American word for snow eater.

Thanks Patti! Actually woke up to a lot of wind, higher water and rain! By the time I had to go out, it had settled down! We were lucky! I actually wondered if you had gotten hit. I remember last year, it became like a sick joke with storm after storm for you.

Patti, sounds like you have crazy weather like we do up here. Snow storm Thursday paralyzed the city. Started early afternoon. Complete gridlock. Nice and sunny Friday. OK Sat. All hell broke loose Sunday. 8-9 inches of snow.Warmer temps, 2 inches of rain, then the high winds came, temps dropped, everything froze and then today is sunny again. Wait an hour and the weather will change. Thanks for thinking of us.

Hey Mike, I drove up to Boston years ago from Austin, Bean Town we called it then. It was frozen solid and kept snowing ... and all the snowplows piled up dirty snow on my pickup. So I set out in search of a shovel and maybe a pick ax in my shorts, T-shirt, and sandals. My pickup was frozen solid to the pavement.
Then alternate side of the street parking kicked in and by the time I returned my pony was solid gone! So I asked a manager and he said "Yeah I called, who ya lookin' at? Try these folks down at the impoundment in South Boston." Nice touch, he had an extra tow truck card.
So I warmed up my feet from blue to pink and headed off to this junkyard. Well this was a long, icy walk from the Cambridge area but finally I got near the destination and people were so happy they started shouting with glee and throwing bricks up in the air! I was waving back and they kept the party going, a nice welcome for a transplanted Texas boy.
Finally got to spring my pickup from the pound, eighty-eight bucks including a fuel fee and on account the driver had to shovel and pick ax all the snow and ice. Now I know why that fella had one-inch bullet-proof glass and a bank thing to pay your cash. He even gave me back the keys so I didn't have to jump-wire it again. His jaw about like to fall to the floor when I smiled and said my thanks - I don't think he'd been to Texas before.
Now us people from Texas can't drive in the snow and ice, but these Bean Towners simply can't drive at all. I was practicing my moto-cross skills and these folks had no sense of humor at all. I think a bunch of the men were gay, since they kept turning red and shooting me the finger. Anyway, the folks throwing the bricks were impressed with my off-road technique, and Mr. Finger behind me got boinked by one because he was trying to hump my rear bumper instead of watching for the incoming. I beeped and the crowd roared with applause. ;)

I hate to do this to you Sam, but we have more in common than you think. I've been to Texas a couple of times. I have family on my mother's side around Houston and Ft Worth. My oldest brother Paul went to Texas A&M way back. "Aggies" They called him Boston back then. They liked him so much that to show their appreciation, they went out to the highway and stole a large sign that read BOSTON LN. Brought the sign back home with him. Great stories from Texas. Now on the flip side, you are correct. People up here cannot drive in snow. I've driven 2W wheel trucks all my life. A little weight in the back and off I go. Got stuck once only because I tried to go thru a 4 ft embankment. Didn't work. The tow yard is still over on the south side. Cost much more to get the car out. When they plow, the 2-3 lane becomes 1 lane. People clear the front windshield but not the rear window. People drive down the middle of 2 lanes because they think they're by themselves. I saw more young people in these light Mustangs and low riders hysterical on the side of the roads. Sam, the ones giving you the finger are the locals around the city burbs. Can you say narrow minded? The gays would be inviting you in to warm your toes. Thank god I actually live 15 miles south of Boston. But I do get to enjoy all this everyday. Merry Christmas. More snow coming Wed.
