My brother Bill, and fiance Diana have decided on a May 07 wedding in the Abacos.
I told them I would tap into all the wisdom that is available from this board.
1) They want to get married on a (rental) catamaran, if possible. They are checking with the Moorings.
2) If so, suggestions on who could perform the ceremony?
3) Do we check with the Bahamian ministry for paperwork needed?

My brother has been going to the Abacos for several years, and is quite familiar with the area.

Thanks in advance....you guys are the best!

Hey Patti I'm not much help there, although the catamaran idea sounds wonderful. I do remember a post from a long time ago that you don't want to re-enter the US with a different last name, though. Best to the bride, just keep the name like the passport and state ID for a few days, maybe.

My borther married a gal from Mexico so they had the religious ceremony in Mexico City but the civil ceremony in the US. They optionmight make some sense?

Will you be in the Abacos around the Holidays ... or maybe down in SPI?
Sam ;)

It sounds like we will head for the Abacos around May if all goes well.
Our friends have invited us to their place in Port Isabelle, SPI, but we haven't been able to get away yet. We definately have it on our short list of things to do.
Thanks for the tips, I didn't even think about the name/ID thing. I will let Diana know.
When are you going back to the Abacos next?
