Why are we not able to Cut, Copy, Paste any part of a post that we type on this forum? We can on other forums but not here??? Do I need to toggle some setting? When I highlight any part of this thread, right click on the highlighted area, a different window pops up but nowhere can I find the Cut, Copy, Paste option. Any help here? I just lost a very lengthy response due to this feature not being available!

Dave, I just copied and pasted the above from your post into this compose window; must be on your end; sorry.

Yes, I can do that too! But try cutting, copying or pasting something that YOU are typing into the reply thread! Cutting, copying and pasting from ANOTHER thread works!

Try this: highlight the text you want to copy, then hit CTRL+C, move the cursor to where you want to paste, and hit CTRL+V. Let's try it here.

Seems to work.

Also, when you're doing something complex, using text from multiple elements, it may be useful to work it up on a word processor,. then paste it into the reply window.

Alternate method: use Edit - Copy from the drop-down menus in the upper left corner of your browser window.

The problem is with the right-click menu, which shows only an abbreviated list of choices. These choices change with context, and are supposed to present you with the most-needed functions.

Clearly, the choices are not always what you want!
