Clearing customs in Ft Lauderdale

Hi folks! We're thinking of a spur of the moment trip the 2nd week of November and I found a great deal on Orbitz with Continental. The return layover in FLL is only 1 hour 16 minutes. Does this give us enough time to clear customs?

FWIW, last time I flew Gulfstream/Continental Connection back from the Out Islands, the pilots walked us through some back doors and through customs and immigration. It was very fast. (Don't know if this is normal, or whether it had something to do with the fact that there were only 4 of us on the flight...)

flight on time and no lines at Ft Lauderdale, both of which happen a lot,and you can make it.
