Seems like everyone is in "shadow mode" in the summer. I do know there can be dorado to be had. These folks are on Lubber's Quarters - love that old style lobsterboat!

I got quite a few search hits from this same exact Abaco Forum, a credit to our site operators. I haven't hear from Rock Steady or CR lately, as they are our main fishing correspondents. Sapelo Son is also quite a good fishermen, as there are many more repeat short-timers (hope you didn't mind me saying that!).
The general sense I got that the season will only improve after a very slow start, with lots of wind and weed. Inshore fishing and flats bonefishing was generally not affected although a little tougher in the wind and chops. Marlin is definitely closer in. Not sure as to the status of wahoo and yellow tuna. Shark are always around. Have fun!

Yeah, the wind has been up from what I experienced in late May and read about through June so far. We caught bottom fish, lots of them off TC, so give it a wirl and them give us a report!

We caught this misty grouper in about 600 ft and we were deep dropping.
Excellent eating, caught off pelicans. Plan to go back there soon and look for his brother.

Nice grouper! TGOF have never caught those Mistys because our Zebcos don't have enough line on 'em.
Save a fillet for me.
Actually, We did pretty good off the TX/LA coast last weekend so we finally have a little fish in the freezer.

Lots of footballs around Guana. Caught 14 yesterday in about 1.5 hours.
Birds aplenty. People are catching occasional yellow fins in with the blacks. Early morning and late in day seem to work best.
On the large size, Abaconian has picture of the 900+ blue marlin (one of the largest ever in the Bahamas) recently caught in the BBC.

Now that sounds more like it! Has the seaweed settled down? We're still fighting a bunch off S Texas.

Just got back from Guana, the blackfins were everywhere off the north end in the morning and the afternoon. Had a couple wahoo bites as well but didn't catch any. Small cedar plugs and ilanders worked best. We also caught some nice grouper fishing the reef, chumming and trolling big Yo-Zuris.

Just back after a week on Elbow. Went S towards Cherokee one day-too much weed even 5-6 mi off, two sm black fins and a wahoo cut-off. Next day(water flat) went N off Guana, fished many weed lines, finally one 40#+ yellow-fin-we finally had some sushi!. Other reports from fishing guides indicates it's still very slow. Yes a big marlin was caught but with over 60 boats fishing there were only four billfish in that legf of BBC.
Inside fishing was OK-snappers and such on 6# test.
Tha's my report
