View Full Version : The Dumbest Billboard in The Bahamas!

Hi Everyone,

The attached photo is of a newly erected billboard on the main highway about 10 miles south of Marsh Harbour airport.

It is parallel to the highway, making it impossible to read! Normally when BTC messes up, the locals get irritated, but in this case everyone is enjoying laughing when they go to pay their phone bills!

As a sign maker, I am left nearly speechless. Perhaps, it is a good thing that it can't be seen. It is really ugly!

Cheaper that way.

Mounted that way, the sign maker only has to paint one side.

And, because it's the only sign in five miles, so far, everybody has slowed down to read it.

That sign is now visable all over the world (only a click away) Maybe it was a smart way to install it? Plus everyone is stoping to read it not just blasting by at sixty???????????

Okay. Now I get it. BEC erected the sign to act as speed hump. Unfortunately, it will only slow drivers for a short time. One viewing is enough! BEC could have saved money by tossing a few 4x8 sheets of plywood in the road. LOL

Speed bump, What a great idea if they will only change the sign weekly evryone woould stop to read it and would not damage there suspension as a normal speed bump does. It could be called a "Passive speed bump" just think if they added weekly words of wisdom to it. It could be a ' Smart passive speed bump"

I like the way you're thinking. By changing the sign from time to time, drivers will slow to see what's on it, and a lettering artist will always have a next job.
