FYI - Passport Processing Times

I finally applied for my passport this weekend and thought that I would pass along that right now the normal processing time for passports is about 8 weeks. Plan accordingly as there will certainly be a rush as the Jan. deadline approaches. :)

FYI, this past April we needed to get passports for my wife and kids. We waited too long and the cost per passport almost doubled for the "fast" (around 3-4 weeks) processsing. My recollection is the cost went from $90-100 to about $180 for the adults. Kids a bit less but they expire more quickly.
