Several forums in Texas were hit hard today by the computer nerds. A few were taken off-line to clean up the mess. Some invaders sent spam, porn, and even nasty robotic viruses (do NOT open questionable attachments). If a posting looks fishy please report it using the red triangle icon - right away.

No big deal, just our experience here in Texas today, and folks it wasn't pretty. -sammie

Within the last few days we have seen a definite upsurge in the number of attempted spam registrations. Yesterday we refused almost 30 spammers. In our registration process, there is a point where the registrant has to wait for approval, which means one of us has to actually look at the information they have submitted and make a judgment as to whether they are real people or spammers. Unfortunately, last month we initially refused two legitimate registrants because their email addresses looked fishy. We did get them registered, with the appropriate apologies, but it is a never-ending battle.
What we worry about is that a spammer will get in and shower the membership with emails and PMs about whatever, or they'll post obscene graphics. If you encounter this, as Sammie says, either send us a quick email, PM, or click on the red/white/black triangle at the top/right of the post, and we'll get on it.
And while we're at it, say 'hello' to our newest member, sapelosonjr. And I gotta tell you, if we didn't already have a member SapeloSon, I might have thought jr was a spammer, the name looks a little funny. That's one way we identify spammers. It ain't easy, folks:rolleyes:.
