Several people have asked about this web site and I can't post it on the other board so maybe there are some people on this board that might be interested.

Very informative. Just curious, why in the world can't this be posted on the other board?

Links for non-advertisers on the AMB are no longer allowed!

Yeah, I had to private message a couple of people to send them to the Bahamian Geneaolgy site. It was so much easier when it could have just been posted on the board but we have the freedom to post links here! Thanks!!

I thought the 'ban' was only for commercial links. I wouldn't have thought a genealogy site counts as 'commercial'. Why not give it a go and see what happens?

One more reason why we bailed on the AMB and built the Forum. We're all adults here, we'll treat you that way.

I don't know anymore Sandy. I've had my hands slapped one too many times over there. I tried posting non-commercial links and was told that the people can google what they are looking for....

I'll give it a shot, Island Daze.

OK, some folks down here in our banana republic of South Padre Island want to start up a cruise line deal.

Can you imagine if they started doing that on a big scale in the Abacos?

Anyway, if there is a more controversial subject besides sharks and crawdads and Guana, please let me know. I detest the whole cruise line mentality and have no truck with them. Many locals, however, would love a few extra thousand in chump change from the nice passengers.

It is an emotional subject. Those folks who spent good money on a cruise paid about a thousand themselves, and the business is booming because of all us boomers. It's exactly like Pogo said. /Sam

Before we left there were 2 - 3 decker party boats in Marsh, the way rumors go, you never know about the cruise line thing....
Maybe the locals can help with the purpose for these boats one was past Rainbow and the other was at the gov't dock.

is arguably this forum's biggest supporter. Through their policies all freedom-loving types are forced to come here......Appreciate all you've done El Doktoro Ralpho.......this board will soon become the primary source for Abaco info.....if it hasn't already.....Ken

I first started visiting the other site shortly before this one started up. At the time we were looking for alternatives to our annual trek to the BVI. After reading some of the posts and responses from moderators over there who shut down certain threads, I was more than a lttle confused as to the purpose of that board.

I am still confused, but don't really care anymore as this board provides the same service (at a higher level) without all of the silliness that seems to pervade in the application of their "rules".

Kudos to Dr. Ralph and all of those who work "behind the scenes" to make this board a success. Kudos as well to all of you who particpate as members.
