With much regret, I am back in Atlanta- it is cold and there are no fish to catch.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who offered there opinions and advice- it was very helpful and we had a great time.
The hot set up for fishing was the fast troll- 14 knots. We tried every spread and speed you can imagine but we always caught fish when we ran:
Three lines, two 50's and one 30. 2# trolling weights followed by 15' of 400# mono shock leader and the lure. They almost always went for a big Ilander (blue/white and pink/white) with the exception of the pink/black wahoo wacker.
This was supposed to be a wahoo specific spread but we also caught tuna, dorado and one damn barracuda.
As for the other stuff: Harbour's Edge restaurant wins the best dinner award- also try the "chicken in a bag" for lunch. On Da Beach had the best jerk chicken sandwich and was right down the road from our house; cool people. Sugar Shack was the ice cream spot but also had some fantastic homemade cranberry-orange relish for Thanksgiving. The Reef Bar & Grill at Hope Town Harbour Lodge wins best view- other than the top of the lighthouse but they do not serve booze there.
Sea Spray was quite nice for drinks. I missed dinner at the Boat House Sunday but it came highly recommended.
The crew went to Nippers on Thursday while I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner and returned drunk so I assume that was a good time.
Pete's Pub was a great stop for lunch while we were trolling our way down to Hole In The Wall. Winding Bay has an awesome resort that has a neat little beach bar.
My vote for the best conch fritters is Curly Tails in Marsh Harbour.
Again, thank you all and take care!
