Hi all,

I am new to this board but obviously share much in common with the rest of you guys - Abaco-obsessed! Briefly, my husband and I run a small fishing charter (23' Parker CC) on the NC Coast. We are looking to spend Jan. & Feb. in Abaco, since our business dies down to nothing during those months. We were there last November and found it to be the perfect place for us. Can anyone give me some info on an affordable monthly rental? We are familiar with the waters right out of Tilloo but would be open to other areas. Also, what's the level of difficulty on bringing our dogs (2 chocolate labs)? Lastly, if there is anyone out there that would need any crew for offshore fishing - my husband would jump on board in a heartbeat.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think you need to decide which cay you want to rent on than there would be a lot of people with info. We have only been to TC but I have heard wonderful things about the cays. Almost tried Guana this year, maybe someday.

Just a reminder, if you are a business owner and would like to offer your cottage to these folks (or any others), you are welcome to do so in a PM or an email. We ask that you avoid a direct solicitation in the form of a post. Now that we actually have advertisers we have to be a little more rigorous with following the rules.

And while we're at it, if you would like a banner ad on the Forum, click here (http://www.drralph.net/Forum_ad_page.html)for info.

Will cover the dog import thing...
Apply for a Dog Permit (http://www.bahamas.com/assets/content/pdf/BAHAMAS%20IMPORT%20REQUIREMENTS_FORM_070604.pdf)
Suggest you FedEx and pay $5 for fax back, this process takes about a week at the longest, or if you do it all by mail you'll get your permit in 6-8 weeks.
The day before you leave have your vet fill out the permit.
One thing to consider, if you have 2 labs some airlines will not allow more than 1 large crate per flight. Would check to see if you can get them there first. Vintage (http://www.vpj.com/)will fly dogs from Fl. If you have more ?s PM or ask here.
