Hi All...We will be in Abaco from April 4 through 12 - staying on Elbow. This vacation has always been 'for the big folks' but this year we are towing the kids along, which will be fantastic. We'd like to take them fishing inside. Problem is, our 'team' understand how to pull stuff on the outside - but have no idea what to do with the little ones on the inside. Looking for any help or advice.
Thanks very much - love the forum.

Check out Fishing in Abaco (http://www.drralph.net/FishininAbaco2005.html), there are several suggestions for kids.

Fishing inside can be done same as offshore trolling just scale down. A 1/8 or 1/4 oz bucktail jig works well 50 - 75 feet behind your boat at about 12/1400 RPM. Lots of action around the reefs & cuts. Good luck!

To the advice given in Dr. Ralph's article, I would add the wrecked barge SW of Lubber's Quarters. Great spot to anchor and bottom fish, sometimes you even catch a shark. It's in the Dodge Guide, easy to spot on a calm day, sometimes is maked by a bouy.

Thanks very much Pellucid - I've pulled Dodge out and believe I see the mark of the wreck. We'll give that a try for sure.

Kids that age will have a great time fishing from any dock!
