Hello,

Has anyone ever taken the route behind Cornish instead of crossing through the channel? The channel was rolling during my last visits and I was looking for a way to get away from some of it.

The Dodge guide indicates that there is enough water that way. I wanted to get personal feedback from the Forum. I welcome any of your insights and suggestions.

Thanks all.

Tom

That gets pretty skinny back there, and there are heads on the south side of Cornish. You will still be exposed to the surge until you work south past the north tip of Lynyard. Unless it's a really bad day you can usually work through the area between Sandy Cay and North Bar; take it slow, quarter the swells, be patient, you'll make it.

What size boat? I go thru there all the time in my 24' outboard.
