Tina and Sam, decided to start a new thread, since the earlier post was wondering a bit from the original subject matter. Hope that is ok.

For anyone that is going to be in the Abaco's this May ... how about a board meeting?
Tina, Sam, Bahamababe.... let us know what will work for you.

We are staying on Guana this time, 5/4/07 - 5/13/07 but will need to stay the night of 5/14 at the Conch Inn in Marsh Harbour for our flight out the next morning.
Would that work for you? Maybe upstairs at Curly Tails, Snappa's or Sap's?
We are also able to pop over on the ferry (****, more vouchers:eek: ) during the week, as long as we are coherent enough to make our way back .
Maybe Pat and Sid could join us too?

UGH! We can't make it those dates! We will be there the last week of June, though, if anyone wants to know....

Where are you staying on the lovely Great Guana Cay?

Patti, I wish that would work for us but our friends come in on the afternoon of the 13th and I'm not sure they would like to spend their first day in Marsh Harbour. Any chance we can do it earlier? We wouldn't mind at all travelling to Guana from Lubbers or somewhere else that works for everyone. Where are Sammie and BahamaBabe staying? We're on Lubbers from May 5 for a week and then Elbow for a week with another couple.

103 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pat, we are staying at Dan and Carolyn Young's place, Coconut-Tyme. Dan says it is by Susan's Cove, or Boat Harbour? We have visited the cottage once, last year. Since I have no mountains to reference, All I can tell you is that, heading out of the settlement, (NW, I think) we go past the lime green house with the chain link fence, and turn and go past the gentlemans place that has the yellow submarine.
Tina, we could do whatever works too, let us know.
Bahamababe....Sorry, we would have enjoyed meeting you.

I know exactly where that house is located. The drive way is left past the yellow submarine....by the way, he is also building a helicopter, I'm sure you will see it. I believe that Chorene is the caretaker for Coconut-Tyme.

Chorene is the caretaker. We are supposed to meet her when we get off the ferry on the 4th.
Dan and Carolyn, the owners - are going down for 2 weeks starting February 1st I believe.
I think I mentioned in a past post several weeks ago... I am just worried about driving the cart home from Nipper's, and not being able to spot the green house, fence, or the submarine.....not entirely having to do with loss of light, if you know what I mean...;)

LOL, maybe we should build a fake mountain in the Abacos so Patti can find her way around. Where's the Sheik when ya need him?

My schedule is fairly loose right now but I would go to MOW and then Dickies, a short stone's throw. The parents will be leaving sometime in June to go up to Maine. Mom and and got pneumonia so that is why we're not there right now. I'd love to meet some of you fine folks.

Once I get that new passport in the mail I'll be pretty spontaneous about it, other than getting "cheap" airline tickets (stop laughing!). /Sammie

Patti, we're right across Boat Harbour from where you'll be keeping your boat, when the harbour watch dogs start barking come by and say hey. We'll have our own Board meeting on the point.
Janet David and flyingdogs ( the flyingdogs now consist of Frannie, Maggie and Dewie, the newest are 4 month old Goldens waiting for that 6 month deadline)

Sounds great... just let us know! We LOVE dogs....we used to raise malamutes, and had a yellow lab that passed away about a year ago. Now its just Java the mutt... 1/2 sharpei and 1/2 husky. It sounds weird, but he is pretty cute. Can 't wait to meet the flying dogs!

Sam, let us know whatever works for you....it would be a pleasure to meet up with y'all someplace....

...that we can get a much needed Golden Retriever fix while we're there, Flying Dogs? Please? We miss Tucker, our golden and Mocha, our chocolate lab so much while we're gone. Almost so much that we don't go anywhere. Well, almost!

Patti, maybe we'll need to have the meeting on Guana. We'll just have to do it early enough so that Rick & I can make it back to Lubbers before dark. I'm sure that there won't be much drinking going on:rolleyes:

It's starting to get really exciting!

Tina

PS Patti, a sharpei/siberian husky mix? I think we need to see some pics!

It's a wrinkled husky. He has a black tongue too!
Yup, we can meet on Guana too - that would be lots of fun.

are just waitin for march to be Abaco legal...Tina DaGoose (that sounds weird) Frannie barks at any boat that even comes close to the harbor, so if they're out we're home..
Pat, Maggie has some bad habits, but none like the Maggie we know...

If we are going to show off our children here are Bandit the wonder dog and Angel - my kids.
Bandit is the first picture, Bandit almost lost his life last month when the kennel they were staying at caught fire. He suffered severe smoke inhalation, carbon monoxide poisoning, and severe damage to his eyes from the smoke.
Bandit was in intensive care for a few days, and we did not know if he would survive. The good news is he made it, and is almost as good as new!
Angel is a rescued dog with a heart as big as her 120# butt that needs to be on the furniture all the time.
They now have a live-in maid when they can't come with us.

I love their colors R. Great looking dogs. I am so glad Bandit is doing well now.
Janet and David, can't wait to meet your clan in person. Sounds like lots of fun. Not sure that we will have a boat, but my brother and sister-in-law are supposed to have one. We will see, but we still plan to be down on the docks. Especially if these cuties are hanging around.
Thanks for the pics.

What amazing and beautiful additions to the "family"!

Cannot wait to meet those two beauties!:D

Flying Dogs, Maggie and Dewie are adorable! Hopefully we'll get to 'meet' them. Our Tucker is the WORST watchdog. He only barks when someone isn't paying enough attention to him!

Patti, Java is gorgeous! Good to see a dog that's meant for the snow in the snow. Sad to hear your yellow lab is no longer with you. Mocha turned 13 last Nov and she's really slowing down, it's so sad.

CR, Are both your dogs Staffies? Glad to hear Bandit's OK, that must have been so frightening. They are both beautiful.

Wish I knew how to post pics (Rick does all the tech stuff) so I could show off our 'babies'.

I guess this thread has seriously been hijacked!

Bandit is a registered "Staffordshire Bull Terrior", Angel is a "Tosa" from Japan who was rescued from a dog-fighting ring.

Not at all! Since this is a "meeting of the board" the first order of business would be to order some cools ones and talk about our dogs. We inherited our daughter's American Staffordshire and yes ... she sleeps with cats when not on OUR bed. When we go for a walk her kitty friends have to follow like a Junkanoo, but sniffing each others ... well you KNOW what pets do. I'll post something if I can find our cutie pie on the computer ... and thanks for the message, Patti, I will check with the bride. /sammie

The avatar is equally easy to upload from your computer, rather than doing something fancy. Just make it 80 pixels max. Mine just refreshed, nice!

Patti, meet Malia in my avatar there, a nice puppy named after the Hawaiian word for "good." She is getting ready to give me a big kiss, not go on the rampage. Not a great picture, but I'm photographically challenged, OK?

Nice site, DrRalph!

Mahalo,

Funny, we inherited Java from our daughter and son-in-law too. But, he is a keeper, so it's all good.
Can't wait to meet you and you bride this spring!

Like I said, I have a soft spot for labs for some reason.... ours was a flunky from guide dog school in CA. He was the only lab I knew of that would not go in the water....

Ken, wish you were going to be there. Maybe you could zoom over after your CBM? We would love to meet you and the Mrs. I think you would bring lots of fun to the get-togethers.

Have you ever tried to "ZOOM" on a trawler? If I met you guys in May I would have to leave yesterday........you have no idea how much I miss Abaco.....coffee and computer at Nippers, going to Guana Grocery 3 times a day, snorkeling on a "nekkid" beach, drinking wine at my favorite hangout, talking with Randy and Cassidy on the Ice Cream porch, making up new lies with Mikey at Nippers, exploring the creeks on big Abaco, drinking at Cracker P's, etc.......:p

Patti Puzo

Well, you said you were going to have Carol check Expedia when you found out about the wine bottles being full from a previous post... so, I just thought.....
Now, I'll bite... please tell us where the nekkid beach is... and how many frozen Nippers does it take before you realize you'll need different sunscreen applications? Mark is Italian though, so he doesn't need to worry...but me being a green-eyed, and freckled... I can just hear the bacon sizziling.....

Aw come on, AbacoParrot, a trawler is the way to go anyway, even if it only goes 8-9 knots. Got to go before Hairy Cane season starts in June, right? ;)

Unless I find a ride on a boat I'll be stressing out in the airports, doing "the security dance" where they wave those wands all over ya. I'd rather take a slow boat to the Abaco any day, even if I have to bail water! :)

And y'all, how come we always end up with the kid's pets? Thank goodness they didn't ditch a 125-pound Grand Pyrenees on us!

A "nekkid" beach is a beach with no one else on it! As you probably know, they are all over Abaco......and Sammie.....I have a "speedy" trawler....tops out at 12 knots but, you're right, she prefers 8-9 knots. Can't get in a hurry but I'm comfortable....ken:D

Big guy but the gift shop/ice cream shop is no more! Maureen has everthing that she owns up for sale :( Randy still goes down to the laundry room every morning for all that want to use it..
