Hey everyone,I am curious-what was the first bar/grill/liquor establishment on Great Guana Cay?I would love to know the chronological order and names of all of them.As a history buff I am also curious as to when the island was first settled.I was going to tag this to the Coco Paradise thread but I figured it was too many darn questions at once.Thanks!

To my knowledge, it was Guana Beach Resort, but that was in the early 70"s!! Probably somewhere to hoist a cold one before that..:)

Yes, and I reallly have fond memories of Guana Beach Resort. It was my favorite place. What a shame it burned. The lost memorabilia inside created an ambience that has never been duplicated.

Yes it was a great place to relax before Floyd came along! We used to love to go there and kick back. They had a great little gift shop ther where we bought some pictures painted by Pam West!

Thanks for the info everyone,and thanks for the great pictures Abaco Skippy!In the last picture thats probably the very hammock my wife is laying in with me standing next to her in my avatar.She wanted me to lay in the hammock too for the picture but I didnt want to break it once I got in!What an awesome place it is to hang out and watch the sunset.The hammock sits a little closer to the water now than it did then it looks like.Are those Grabbers you are drinking?They are making me awful thirsty right now.Does anyone else have any history or pictures to share?
I hear they are fixing up Grabbers as we speak-can't wait to see it soon.

You and Wendy looked like "youngins'" in those pics. Carol and I only got to Guana resort a couple of times before it burned. Wish we had spent more time there.........Ken:(
