Many people ask what tackle to you take to the Abacos. I've been fishing in Abaco for a dozen years or better and herein are a few examples. Know that I already have about nine full tackle boxes in Abaco, but maybe this will help someone.

For fishing in the Sound I'm taking a few Rapalas (4-6
inches yellow/orange and blue/silver) for trolling and some white and yellow feathers. I've also packed barrel weights from 1/2 oz. to 2 oz., barrel and regular swivels, fluorocarbon leaders 20#, hooks from #1 to 5/0, pliers and knives.

For outside I've got leader wire, #8 and #9 and fluorocarbon leader in 50# and 80#. I'm also taking some of the new Williamson soft plastic trolling baits...mackeral and mullet. I've got a box full of hooks ranging from 5/0 to 9/0 for ballyhoo.

For lures I'm taking some 4" cedar plugs, a variety of Ilanders in sizes up to 9", one larger secret marlin lure as well as a secret yellowfin bait, and a bunch of small hoochies which add a bit of glory to the ballyhoo.

Just some ideas...hope you find one or two useful.
Just go...
