Hot Spots Next Week ???>>>
Our group of 12 thirtysomethings (husbands and wives) are headed down next week and was wondering what are some of the good weekday places to kick back and have a good time. Music or band, beers, etc. We are staying on Elbow Cay, but will have boats and golf carts to get us where we need to be. Would love to meet up with some people day or night if there is anything good going on very. Also any recommendations for lunch or dinner are appreciated.

If you are renting boats, I don't think you are allowed to take them out at night, but I am sure there is plenty to do on Elbow at night. I know you said weekday places, but if you are there on Sunday, go to Nippers on Great Guana Cay for their lunch-time pig roast.

You're 'tryin' too hard.....
Relax...It's all there. and they're all good hangouts... Elbow Cay- Nice pool/beach bar at Hopetown Harbour Lodge and Abaco Inn. Both have an excellent dinner and atmosphere. As well as Sea spray. Sea Spray farther south has live music every Sat. nite. outside Garbonzo Bar, nice outside dinner setup/ or inside if you prefer. Harbours Edge on the water in Hopetown nice hangout as well as Capt. Jacks also on the Harbour in Hopetown. All of these are quickly accessable by cart. a few minutes on ch. 16 and you'll know what nites have what / where. just a little ways by boat is Cracker P's over on Lubbers. But, as mentioned earlier. best stay put after dark by boat - not a good idea to be boating about the cays. not to mention every rental agency forbids after dark boating. Our favorites on elbow: Family: really nice dinner, but $$ Hopetown Harbour Lodge (make reserv) Sonny boy: rack of lamb at hopetown harbour lodge Miss T: Edge salad for lunch at Harbours Edge - served by Sylvia I.Jane: Conch pizza at sea spray Jenny F; chicken in da. bag, harbours edge GT: All of the above - conch anywhere any kind, cold drinks. Munchie's (hopetown) burgers and an afternoon snack of fish dip at Cracker P's on lubbers. ahhhh. leaving in 12 hrs. we should be on Elbow by noon....... 'Catch 22' GT. Try Capn Jacks for Happy Hour - 5:00 to 6:30 - somtimes longer - you will find a good local atmosphere and lots of laffs -usually. DJ music Wed and Fri nite, and I have just remembered they are closing next Friday the 6th till October. So we'll party one more time Friday to end the '10 season......Avoid the HT Harbour Lodge lunchtime the service is poor but dinner ($$) is good. Off Island don't miss Petes Pub (Lil Harbour) for a Blaster & Cracker P's (Lubbers) for the smoked fish dip. Regardless, enjoy your visit & thanks for choosing Abaco.

Harbour's Edge has a band on Saturday nights... but again, things are slowing down so you can give them a call to check that.
The food is still great if the band is NOT there! |
