I read about this on Facebook, and my heart is heavy. We met Dan and Celina at Seaspray 2 years ago. He was larger than life. I loved seeing the pictures he would post of his lovely little girl, Cece, running around Elbow Cay.
You will be missed, and in my prayers. |

Gummy's love of the Abacos showed through in all his reports. I really felt his zest for life in his reports and that he was passing that on to his adorable little daughter. My heart goes out to his family.

How terribly sad for his wife Celina and darlling daughter Cece and the rest of his family and friends. We also got the chance to meet him at Tahiti Beach and Seaspray. What I remember most is that big ole smile, his funny stories and those crazy white sunglasses!
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family. Tina & Rick |

I still can not believe it. Spent the whole night with Dan & Celina playing poker at the Edge's casino night for Clay's birthday when they were in town last.
We made plans to go visit. Just sucks. I think Celina is planning to have a memorial in January sometime here & will scatter his ashes in Hope Town. Just another reminder how precious life is. We'll miss you always Dan & we'll always be here for your family. Erika & Dewey xoxoxox |

So sad!
Shocked and saddened to hear about Dan. We often were on the same flight over to MH from FLL with him, his wife and daughter, and had a drink or two at "Til Late" at the airport waiting to go home. Our deepest sympathies to his family.

Very sad news of Dan's much too early death. I met Dan at the Abaco Inn about 2 years ago, I recognized him from his avatar and those funny white sunglasses! He later recognized me in my boat at the public dock at Crossing Beach. He was in the Albury 23 he so much liked and gave me a bag of ice that he said he couldn't use, he was that kind of guy. My prayers to his family and friends. Phil

There was no doubt when Dan was around. And the time that I had the pleasure of meeting him, he was full of energy, and had a booming, gravelly voice. He seemed to really enjoy people, and I felt comfortable with him right away, as seems to be the case with most friends we've met in Abaco. I do keep thinking back of how he worshipped his little girl, CeCe, and all the pictures he took of her, from the time she first visited Abaco, and was riding in the boat in her pack and play.
Huge sigh and pause.....Some things are just so hard to make any sense out of. |

I could NOT get it off my mind most of the day. Only chatting with him on the Forum and feeling what a nice guy he was. So full of zest for life. Sad, so very sad. I pray for his family.

It is hard to wrap your mind around it, but there is a part of him living in Cece.

What's Cece like? Sounds like Dan really loved her (and of course Mom). We should really protect and support her, ya know ...

I had a cold Heineken at 7 till Late yesterday morning in Dan's memory and honor. Dan was the kind of person you have to like. Prayers to his family.

I didn't know him either, but he seemed like a heck of a guy. He was so tuned into local Abaconians and I know his loss will be felt by many folks for a long time to come! I'm so sorry Celina and Cece have to endure such sadness at this time in their lives.
