Dr Ralph, sounds like you are having weather like we had! We still managed to have a great time in between the rain and it sounds like you are too!

You must be on Guana right now. Have fun!

Hi to Bunny.

Ahhh, the Garbanzo. What a great place to idle away a rainstorm. Doc, sounds like a reprise of our trip in May...Tahiti when it brightened, Seaspray in the gloom, Hope Town at the first glimpse of sun. Hopefully, you'll get futher afield as your trip rolls along.

Yup. The deck is wet. But you are in good company at a great place! Hopefully we'll get back there again next Winter! Maybe a Happy Hour at the Abaco Inn on Wednesday will help?

Just heard the weather, today is "transitional," still a chance of squalls and high winds, much better tomorrow. So we'll play close to home today, head for Guana tomorrow. Maybe Abaco Inn tonight, just haven't gotten that far.

Stafford, you are too kind. Our idea of boating is turning a key and pushing the throttle down. We are too old and too stupid to sail, but thank you so much for the invite.

Wednesday, July 1, Part 1
We got up at 7:45, I walked up the hill to the top of Elbow and listened to Patty's weather report. It did't sound too bad, although I figured the better part of valor might be to delay the Guana trip for another day, so I called Dave & Wendy, and Peach and Jerry, and confirmed the plan. We ate, showered, and got dressed, threw off the lines, and got about a half-mile until the first squall hit. We tied up in the lee of Abaco Inn's dock, took 50 kts and an inch of rain in about 15 minutes.

Wednesday, July 1, Part 2
After the wetness ended we ran south to N. Pelican Cay and just sat in the warm (83 degree) water. Bunny sat in the boat and ate a sandwich, threw some crust in the water, and chummed up a school of pompanettes. Later we ran north to Tahiti Beach and caught another 50-kt squall just as we were anchoring up.

We bumped into our friends Louis and Julie McCosh, shared a brew or two with them, and made Seaspray by 5:30. Nice day, but I really don't like the high energy squalls.

Photos: approaching Pelican Cay, playing off the beach, chumming pompanettes,
another squall, playing at Tahiti.

[QUOTE=Abaco Skippy;49879]Had lunch at a local (a bit outside of town) watering hole and had the best burger…comparable to the old Banyan Beach Club in TC. And found the best house drink in Hopetown. We have sampled them all this week and this one beats them!

Wait a minute!
On Da Beach?
Or??
And what drink?

Pray tell Skippy!!

We're picking up Dave and Wendy at 11 and heading to Guana, hopefully arrive by noon. Want to hit Nippers and Grabbers.

We are here through Saturday night, we leave early Sunday morning.

We're a little fuzzy this morning, we stayed up with the band and partied until midnight.

Pics and stories to follow, at some point.

Looks like the weather should improve back into "summer mode" with lots of sun and the occasional boomers. Hope that forecast sticks! Have fun, and thanks for the "live" reports. Sure beats the dead ones!

PattyRudi....there use to be a small hut looking building on the beach in front of Banyan Beach Condos that everyone use to rave about their burgers. The condos got hit by a hurricane as well as the little eatery. All that is left are the memories. Really was a nice place on Treasure Cay beach. I heard they just kocked the complex down....probably going to rebuild something else.
