Super Bowl Sunday

Good morning and welcome to Super Sunday. Since most of the nation has been blessed with really crappy weather, we are guessing that many of you will spend the day and evening watching the the coverage from South Florida, where it's a balmy 60 degrees. So who do you think will win: Saints or Colts?

No dog in the game, New Orleans wins both ways. Manning too good for 'em though. Grilling pizzas before the game. Beer, Pizza, Football. Cool poll Doc.

Best playoff decision: Colts letting Jets into the playoffs to knock off San Diego for them.

Last night my brothers' and I were guessing which songs The Who will play. Our concensus was My Generation, Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again. I'm really excited to see them!

Judging from the excitment in the city (New Orleans) these last two weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if we start hearing the WHO DAT cheer from the city about 55 miles away!!

For mid-game entertainment, the NFL has selected a British group that was formed during the LBJ administration. This makes five of the past six years that the Super Bowl halftime act has featured performers whose ages qualified them for membership in the AARP. Prince, the outlier, was 48 when he took the stage in 2007.
No disrespect to the legendary and beloved Who (and none to Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Prince, the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney), but a great many viewers will have no idea what a pinball machine is, let alone how to become a "wizard" on one. "We select acts with songs that are familiar, widely popular and accessible to a large and diverse audience, and that translate well to a stadium venue," e-mails NFL spokesman Greg Aiello, who also points to the Super Bowl pregame show, which this Sunday will have Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry.
"We also prefer acts that are not overexposed," adds Aiello.
